Post 3 Idiots, its been a dearth of good movies in Bollywood. We’ve been wondering where all the good actors have vanished? Well, they’ve been here all the time (in Bhopal, to be precise) putting in their best, for this film.
As they say, when you’ve given it your best, it shows. And it does, remarkably here. There are a few short-comings, as in any major film, but its put together amazingly well, hats off to Mr.Jha.
An average Indian will probably go through the following stages, once he/she decides to watch Raajneeti…
- First 10 minutes - Lets see, where’s the much hyped ‘good acting’ ??
- 20 minutes - Okay now i am really confused, who is in whose party and who is whose brother/father/kaka/mama etc.???
- 30 minutes - No seriously, give me my money back! Now!
Now here’s the sweet spot. This is where the goodies start! The movie takes a turn, and towards good. Everything starts falling into place, some unnecessary characters take a backseat, and suddenly the entire plot is crystal clear, right in front of you.
The acting is so supreme that by the end of the movie, you’re sure to forget that Samar is only a character being played by Ranbir Kapoor.
Now you might wonder, why this review doesn’t enlighten the story. Well, thats coz i want you to watch the movie, even if its just for the acting.
After a long time, we have a movie that has more pros than cons. So make sure you pay the respect that Raajneeti deserves, and watch it minus the piracy.
PS.: This movie has no songs. (Now we’re talkin! Go Bollywood!)
PEACE!
